Spherion Announces New Executive Appointments in the U.S. to Enhance the Company's Business Transformation Initiatives

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., October 12, 2001 – Spherion Corporation (NYSE: SFN), a Recruitment, Outsourcing and Technology solutions provider, today announced new roles and responsibilities for members of its management team to further the Company’s business transformation initiatives. Spherion Chief Executive Officer and President Cinda A. Hallman said these appointments are an important step in positioning Spherion for increased profitability, productivity and predictability.

 

"These executive appointments leverage the talents of our management team to enhance our competitive position in the marketplace," said Ms. Hallman.

 

Wayne Mincey will become president of Spherion Technology Business Solutions Group and continue to serve as President of Enthusian, the Company’s Web-based talent management business. Mr. Mincey previously served as president of Norrell’s Information Services Division. He succeeds Stuart Emanuel who has decided to pursue career opportunities outside of the organization.

 

Jan Wahby will serve as vice president of global marketing. Ms. Wahby will be responsible for closely aligning the Company’s marketing initiatives with its enhanced sales objectives. Previously, Ms. Wahby served as senior vice president and managing director of the Company’s European Operations.

 

Jack Lane
joins Spherion as a vice president of sales within the Company's Recruitment Division, focusing on staffing services.
Mr. Lane
previously served as a global director of marketing and business development for Andersen Consulting.
