Spherion Combines Clear Strategy with Opportune Creative in New Print Campaign

FORT LAUDERDALE , FL. September 24, 2002—Spherion Corporation has launched its edgy new print advertising campaign, with the goal of emphasizing how Spherion makes the workplace more efficient. The ads will be featured in the September 2002 editions of Fortune, Forbes, CEO, Leaders, and Business 2.0.

Created by Fort Lauderdale-based advertising agency (hdc), the mocking campaign entitled “There’s a

Better Way
” takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to build awareness of Spherion’s business solutions. The first in the series of seven ads called “Fire” has a man seated at his desk, literally on the hot seat, flames erupting from a campfire just beneath his seat.

This powerful creative not only taps into every person’s ability to identify with being in such a situation where performance is mandated, but also more sublime topical news as well. The creative begs to answer the headline of, “There’s a better way,” to a more productive workplace environment.

Jan Wahby, Vice President Global Marketing for Spherion commented on the meeting of strategy and creative”. Our mission was to deliver a clear, focused message to both clients and candidates. To clearly define our branding message across advertising mediums we incorporated the tagline "Making the Workplace Work Better" in every piece of creative. The result is a truly solid branding strategy that is sure to get people talking!"
