Spherion® Executive to Speak at Sixth Annual Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor Conference and Expo

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. , June 12, 2003 – Spherion Corporation today announced that Eric Archer, president of the Company’s Professional Recruiting Group, will speak at the sixth annual Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor Conference and Expo on June 17-18, 2003 in New York City .

Archer will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Overcoming the Post-Merger Integration Blues,” along with Ellen Richstone, president and CEO of Entrepreneurial Resources Group and Bob Wiesner, CEO of Rogen International Group.

To help businesses plan for and manage the aftereffects of integration, Archer will explore the common struggles that can quickly derail integration efforts and how organizations can overcome them. Attendees will learn the importance of managing employee expectations and early identification of cultural differences for a quick resolution.

“The primary factor of success in any merger or acquisition is the pre-merger planning process,” said Archer. “This is a critical time when companies must ensure they have complementary business models and product offerings and plans to create a unified culture and corporate mission. Above all, employers must be able to quickly identify and address workforce issues that arise from the integration in order to enhance employee morale and productivity levels.”

Archer has more than 20 years of recruitment experience in the finance and accounting arena. As president of Spherion® Professional Recruiting, Archer is responsible for managing the operations, profitability and strategic direction of the business unit that provides full-time and flexible employees in the following disciplines: finance and accounting, engineering and manufacturing, interim executives, legal, sales and marketing, human resources and information technology. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Personnel Consultant and a Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist.

His recent speaking venues include the Institute of Management Accountants , Career Management Association, Association of Finance Professionals (AFP) and various universities.
