FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. , October 23, 2003 – Spherion Corporation today announced that Eric Archer, president of the Company’s Professional Recruiting Group, will speak at the Association for Financial Professional’s (AFP) 24th Annual Conference in Orlando, FL on Nov. 4th, 2003. Hosted by AFP, the conference takes place from Nov. 2-5 at the Orange County Convention Center and features hundreds of exhibitors, thousands of attendees and nearly 150 educational sessions and workshops on a wide range of financial topics. 

Archer’s session, “Strategies for a Successful Financial Job Search in a Competitive Market,” will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. He will discuss the critical concerns for financial professionals seeking jobs in today’s competitive environment and provide proven techniques for building a job search campaign, developing an effective resume, utilizing Web-based resources and working with professional recruiters. 

“Recruiters and hiring managers are being swamped with resumes for every posted position and it can be tough for even well qualified job seekers to get noticed,” Archer said. “Because employers take varying approaches to candidate sourcing and recruitment, finance professionals must be versatile and use all available resources when looking for new career opportunities.”

Archer has more than 20 years of recruitment experience in the finance and accounting arena. As president of Spherion Professional Recruiting, Archer is responsible for managing the operations, profitability and strategic direction of the business unit that provides full-time and flexible employees in the following disciplines: finance and accounting, engineering and manufacturing, interim executives, legal, sales and marketing, human resources and information technology. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Personnel Consultant and a Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist.
