Dot-Comedy Bash Takes a Lighthearted Look at the Internet Industry
Spherion to Host Unique Recruiting Event Thursday, January 18

CHICAGO, Ill. , Thursday, January 4, 2001—Spherion®a leading provider of business solutions for the new economy, hopes to reach victims of the dot.com and IT industry fallout with some lighthearted laughs and possibly employment.

Spherion , a company that’s been delivering IT solutions in the Chicago area for more than 35 years, offers a stable, solid foundation that’s hard to find in today’s IT services market. The company is hosting a Dot-Comedy Bash Thursday, January 18, at at Dave & Busters,

1030 North Clark St.
, Downtown Chicago.

Spherion hopes the event will assist in their recruiting efforts for Internet developers, front-end Web creative and content architects, quality assurance professionals and software testers.

“To attract the IT industry's best and brightest talent, we wanted to create an event that was fun and more attractive to candidates than mainstream job fairs and open houses,” said Stuart Emanuel, President, Worldwide Operations, Spherion’s Technology Business Solutions Group. “Plus, with the cloud that’s been hanging over the Internet economy the past several months, we are hoping this event, and the possibility of employment with sleeping IT giant Spherion , might just be the silver lining people are looking for.”

Improv comedy troupe The Beverly Thrillbillies will be on hand to spoof recent Web frenzy in skits throughout the evening. Under the direction of improvisation veteran John Hildreth, The Thrillbillies combine a passion for comedy with determination for success. They are regular guests at The Playground Theatre in Chicago and work on a variety of projects in and around the city.

A business card or resume is required for admission, which is free. Along with food and games, doorprizes, including a DVD player and admission to one of Spherion’s training classes, will be given away.
