Spherion Honored by Women Executive Leadership
Among 21 Florida Companies with Two or More Women on Corporate Board

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., February 28, 2007 – Spherion Corporation, a leading provider of recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions, announced that it has been honored by Women Executive Leadership (WEL) as one of 21 of Florida’s 150-largest public companies with two or more women serving on their corporate boards. According to a census conducted by WEL in conjunction with the University of Miami, 14.2 percent of Florida’s largest public companies had two or more women on their corporate boards in 2006, an increase from 12.2 percent in 2004.

At a Corporate Salute held in Hollywood, Fla., earlier this month, WEL founder and president Cindy Kushner said, “We believe these companies value the varied perspectives from a diverse board and recognize the benefits that women bring to their organizations—from better corporate governance to greater shareholder value.”

Spherion welcomed its first woman to the Board of Directors in 1995. As a staffing and workplace expert, the company recognized the benefits of having women participate in business decisions at the highest level. When the first female Board member retired, Spherion began the search to replace her and to expand female representation on its Board.

“Since then, we have welcomed two new female directors who add fresh and unique perspectives to the business, with one contributing Human Resources expertise and the other Sales and Marketing experience,” said Roy Krause, president and CEO of Spherion, in accepting an award at WEL’s Corporate Salute. “Our decision to invite women to join the Board is all about reaping the benefits of diversity. And with an employee population that’s more than half female, having women on our Board is a big win for everyone.”
