Technisource Survey: IT Workers Slightly More Confident in Fourth Quarter

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., January 27, 2010 — The IT Employee Confidence Index increased 0.6 points to 50.8 in the fourth quarter of 2009, according to a recent survey commissioned by Technisource®, the technology placement division of Spherion Corporation (NYSE:SFN). The survey, conducted by Harris Interactive®, reveals that more technology workers are confident in the future of their current employers. At the same time, more workers believe that fewer jobs are available.

Results from the IT Employment Report:

  • Sixty-six percent of technology workers are confident in the future of their current employers (compared to 57 percent in the third quarter).
  • Fewer IT workers are likely to look for a new job in the next year. Specifically, 38 percent say they are likely versus 40 percent in the previous quarter.
  • Sixty-eight percent of workers believe there are fewer jobs available, up five percentage points from the third quarter of 2009.
